I am committed to the local economy, health, families, youth, and infrastructure. My goal is to improve the daily lives of our community and ensure a sustainable future for all.
I am Bertrand Collins, a man committed to the well-being of my community. My professional career began in public administration, where I gained solid experience that allowed me to serve as a City councilor for Fairview District 3.2 in Lennoxville from 2017 to 2021.
My core values are based on listening, transparency, and integrity. I firmly believe that open communication with citizens is essential to building a stronger society.
My commitment to seniors and families is demonstrated through my proposals to improve home care services and develop appropriate healthcare infrastructure. I am particularly sensitive to the issues facing seniors, and I strive to create an environment in which everyone can thrive.
I am also committed to revitalizing the local economy through public-private partnerships and improving infrastructure to ensure quality service for all citizens. Together, we can meet the challenges that lie ahead.
I am delighted to invite you to several upcoming events where I will be present. These occasions will be an excellent opportunity to connect and discuss local issues that are important to us.
I will be attending on August 25, the consultation of the City of Sherbrooke for the Queen Street Bike Path Project in Lennoxville which will take place at the Aimé-Beaudoin Community Center, where I encourage you to come and share your ideas and concerns.
In addition, I plan to hold meetings with voters during the municipal elections. These gatherings will be an opportunity to address issues that are important to you, including the economy, health, and home care for our seniors.

Health and home care
I firmly believe that every senior deserves to remain in their own home as long as possible. To this end, I propose working with Community Aid and the Lennoxville CLSC to improve home care services and strengthen support systems for seniors. My goal is to ensure their well-being while allowing them to maintain their independence.
.
Public-private partnerships
I am committed to developing the local economy through public-private partnerships, including replacing the newspaper "The Lantern" with a community newspaper "Glance" printed in color and in an accessible format to be delivered to all mailboxes in Lennoxville, which will primarily promote a sense of belonging, foster collaboration and provide a platform for the dissemination of crucial local information. These collaborations will optimize resources and improve the efficiency of services offered to the population.
Infrastructure and services for seniors
The development of health infrastructure is essential to meet the growing needs of our aging population. I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure the establishment of a family doctor's office or medical clinic, to improve access to care for seniors, by ensuring that they have access to quality services.

Sidewalk Redevelop-ment and Revitaliza-tion of Queen Street
I propose a complete overhaul of the width of new sidewalks to 154.94 cm (61 inches) with the burial of the electrical and telephone wire, Internet distri-bution cable on Queen Street, as well as the removal of the Hydro-Québec poles and their replacement by the installation of new streetlights on each side of Queen Street between College and Academy. These initiatives aim to revitalize the downtown area, facilitate pedestrian traffic, particularly for our seniors using walkers, wheelchairs, etc., and make it easier for families with children to walk freely on the sidewalks also to adapted sidewalk to the freezing and thawing condi-tions for our winters according to ASTM standards.
Safe pedestrian crossings
The installation of safe pedestrian crossings is essential for the safety of our citizen, specially for our elders and families. I am committed to implementing on Queen and College Streets on demand flashing traffic signals that adapt to the needs of pedestrians to improve safety at pedestrian crossings.
Importance of infrastructure
These projects are not just aesthetic improvements, but crucial measures to ensure safety of vehicle users and also to warn pedestrians to be sprayed with water from potholes. Quality infrastructure contributes to a better quality of life for all residents.
Asphalt streets are in poor condition
Some of our streets in Lennoxville are in very poor condition and require not only new asphalt resurfacing, but also a base design to ASTM standard (American Standard Testing Material) either with a soil-cement base or a metal mesh under the asphalt to better withstand the freeze-thaw cycles of our winters.
Also part of my commitments for a better future
To see to the rehabilitation of the Samuel-Gratham cycle path along the Saint-François River in the heart of nature and accessible from downtown Lennoxville to allow safe transit of cyclists towards the city of Sherbrooke or the reverse in transit towards Lennoxville to join the cycle path towards North Hatley or simply continue on Route 143 South.
To establish a Committee under the direction of the Borough of Lennoxville in collaboration with the City of Sherbrooke parks services for administration and manage-ment as well as for the programming of events and the public market in summer season.
Social awareness regarding the benefits of environmental protection has evolved consi-derably. It has become a global issue. Everyone is invited to participate by changing their lifestyle habits for their own well-being and that of the community.
To facilitate the Lennoxville Youth Centre being set up in a more suitable location than a basement of a commercial building, to contribute to the objectives aimed primarily at promoting the overall develop-ment of young people, equip-ping them for adult life, and providing them with a safe and stimulating environment.
II firmly believe that efficient public transportation is essential to our community. That's why I propose asking STS (Société de Transport de Sherbrooke) to increase service frequency, especially during peak hours. This would reduce congestion and improve travel flow for all users.
In addition, I am considering asking STS to make a change to route number 11, so that buses will once again operate in Oxford Crescent and Archie Mitchell, as they did previously, to better serve this section of Lennoxville, where nearly 20% of the Borough of Lennoxville's population resides in over 650 apartments. I am also seeking improvements to existing infrastructure, ensuring that it is adapted to modern requirements.

It's time to act for a future in which public transportation is not only functional and efficient, but also enjoyable to use. I would strive to make public transportation the preferred method of travel over private vehicles by suggesting innovations to improve everyone's quality of life.
I believe in sustainable development that takes into account the needs of generations. My platform also includes initiatives to improve the efficiency of public transport around large residential areas.
In my vision for public transport, it is crucial to ensure accessibility that meets the needs of users. Adequate public transport services mean that everyone can travel easily, whether to go to work, school, shopping, leisure, or any other destination.
I am committed to working on concrete projects to increase not only the frequency but also the quality of services. This includes reevaluating existing lines to ensure they meet the needs of users in the Lennoxville borough.
I am also attentive to the feedback from citizens about returning to live in Lennoxville and I would like to set up meetings where everyone can share their ideas and concerns.
The development of local businesses plays a crucial role in revitalizing the local economy. By promoting the establishment of local businesses, we contribute not only to job creation but also to improving the quality of life of citizens. These businesses, often run by local entrepreneurs, provide a variety of services and products tailored to the needs of the community.
To strengthen this momentum, it is essential to improve the infrastructure around commercial areas. This includes creating pedestrian spaces, increasing parking, and improving accessibility for all. By partnering with local stakeholders, we can also develop initiatives that encourage shopping at local merchants.
Furthermore, I propose organizing community events that showcase our merchants, such as local markets or craft fairs. These initiatives will help generate interest in local businesses and stimulate interaction within our community.
I am committed to working towards a better future, prioritizing the local economy, health, and well-being of families. My background as a former city councilor has given me an understanding of the critical issues facing our community.
I firmly believe in the power of direct contact with my fellow citizens. That's why during the current municipal elections, I prioritize door-to-door canvassing and leafleting. These methods allow me to create authentic connections with voters, listen to their concerns, and share ideas.
I invite you to contact me directly with any questions, suggestions, or simply to discuss our shared challenges. Together, we can build a stronger, more united community. My email address is: bertrandcollins@videotron.ca or by phone at 819-574-6650.
